Home to fantastic holiday shopping, fun activities, extraordinary displays of treats and trees! The Festival of Trees is one of the largest community-driven festivals in Alberta. Gather round and celebrate the spirit of Christmas while supporting a great medical cause. The donations of this year’s festival will go towards making Osseointegration (the most advanced procedure in the world for attaching prosthetic limbs) more accessible in Edmonton. So what are you waiting for, get your friends and family together and enjoy the holidays at the Festival of Trees!

Things to See

Gingerbread and Cakes

Gather around and feast your eyes on some of the most beautiful Christmas creations! Each year, home bakers show off their talents with their Gingerbread and Cakes, delighting all visitors with their complex designs. Moreover, if you are a baker yourself, you can also participate and showcase your talents while supporting the important cause of the festival!

Christmas Trees

From traditional to exotic decors, the Festival of Trees showcases more than 200 displays of unique trees! Each display is arranged with the visitor in mind to make it easier for you to navigate and view the trees. So enjoy the sparkling lights and elegant decorations as you explore the festival.

Children’s Christmas Lane

One of the highlights of the Festival of Trees is The Christmas lane for children. Kids can partake in a variety of fun activities some of which are free and some require additional payment. From Santa’s den to the Hospital room, these activities aim to teach, entertain and bring kids together at the same time.

Entertainment

Entertainment is one of the key parts of the festival and this year it features a wide variety of awesome performances by school choirs, dance groups, bands and senior groups. In fact, there are about 100 community groups planned to perform this year!

Sweets, Treats and Gift Shop

It’s not a Christmas festival without the presence of delicious Christmas treats. Hence why the Festival of Trees is offering tasty home-baked Nanaimo Cups as well as other baked goods prepared by dozens of volunteers. In addition, there will be entertaining giftware and treasures available at the gift shop. Here you can find plenty of adorable gifts from pottery and aprons to biscotti and much more.

Special Events

There are many special events available for visitors of all ages. And as always the majority of proceeds from the events go towards supporting the future festivals and its cause to fund Osseointegration in the University of Alberta. The theme for this year’s special events is “T’was the night before…”

Luncheon and Fashion Show

Each year the Festival of Trees holds a luxurious luncheon and fashion show followed by an online silent auction that supports the University of Alberta Hospital. The luncheon provides food and drinks for over 900 guests each year! Additionally, by purchasing the luncheon ticket you will get a complimentary Festival of Trees admission ticket.

SilverBell Evening

Join the guest host Ryan Jespersen of 630 CHED for a remarkable evening featuring delicious food, live entertainment and host bar. This adult-only event is the perfect way to start the holiday season.

Ticket Price: $185 per person
Date & Time: November 29 (7:30 pm)

Family Night

Get in the holiday spirit along those you care the most for with an evening celebration tailored for family fun! Join forces and compete in a scavenger hunt and search for clues. Moreover, this event is free of additional costs. So all you need for yourself and your family is the regular admission tickets.

Date & Time: November 28 (5:00 pm to 9:00 pm)

If you are a fan of auctions, gorgeous holiday decorations, tasty treats and lots of entertaining events, the festival of trees is for you!
