U Sports Central

@USPORTSCanada

The U Sports Central is an initiative that allows U Sports to better understand and recognize student-athletes and university sports. Hence why the project’s main goal is to streamline processes relating to athletic and academic awards, student-athlete and member communications, anti-doping education, letters of intent, international programs, and more. Thus if you are an athlete it is a great idea to apply for this program as there are many success stories such as Regan Yee’s immense athletic achievements.

Eligibility Factors

@USPORTSCanada

Whether you are eligible for the U Sports or not depends on a variety of aspects. The most important ones include previous post-secondary participation, professional league participation, international club participation, etc. And keep in mind, your previous teams and leagues activities can greatly boost your application chances. Thus depending on such factors, the staff will determine your year of eligibility.

What is considered as Recruitment

@USPORTSCanada

A student-athlete is recruited by U Sports’s athlete program when the institution’s representatives:
a) Financially assist the student-athlete with an official on or off-campus visit.
b) Have an arranged, in-person, on or off-campus meeting with the student-athlete or the prospective student athlete’s parents, legal guardian, relatives or coach(s).
c) Issue a U SPORTS Letter of Intent.
d) Issue an institutional offer of Athletic Financial Awards to the student-athlete.

@USPOORTSCanada

Athletic university students are often unaware of the numerous opportunities they can seek through programs available such as the U Sports Central. If you are an athlete currently or was part of a league in the past you should consider the U Sports Central since this program offers financial assistance for students in many sports such as baseball and hockey.
