Winter and the holiday season is fast approaching in Canada, which means the Aurora Winter Festival will be returning to two major Canadian cities. Toronto and Vancouver will be hosting the festival which features games, rides, food and markets, ice skating and much much more! Vancouver – Aurora Festival
The Aurora Winter Festival should be added to Vancouver’s best attractions since it features a variety of fun events and delicious food for all. So, the festival will be running from Friday, November 22, 2019, to Sunday, January 5th, 2020 at the PNE/Hastings Park ground, so get that group chat going and come visit Vancouver’s stunning winter festival.
Mystical Worlds and Characters
The Vancouver version of the Aurora festival will feature exhibits and sites of Luminous Gardens, Whimsical Forests, Polar Passages and Lands of Giants. All of these areas exhibit cute photo opportunities, playful characters that interact and stunning decorations.
The North Pole
Similar to Toronto’s Aurora Festival, the North Pole portion of Aurora will feature craft making and meet and greets as well as storytelling with Santa Claus. Don’t pass this section by, you’ll be able to make cute Christmas decorations for your home as well take photos with Santa!
Tube Park presented by Rogers
The festival will be bringing back the oh so popular 200-foot tube slide this year! They will also be adding a variety of new rides and games, including Choo-Choo Charlie, Berry Go Round, Elephants, and Bulgy’s rides!
Unlimited ride passes can be bought online for $18, and single passes are $3.
Tim Hortons Skating Pond
This year, the Vancouver Aurora festival will be a new ice rink courtesy of Tim Hortons! Festival-goers will be able to skate around the rink with friends and family while taking in the gorgeous views. Additionally, skates can be rented on-site for just $6.
Food and Market
The festival will also not have a shortage of food – some of Vancouver’s best food vendors will be on scene for the festival, so come hungry! These top of the line food trucks include Cartems Donuts, Mr. Pretzel, Buddha-Bus, amongst other fabulous vendors and trucks.

The Toronto Aurora festival will be a winter wonderland for people of all ages to experience during the holiday season. The festival will feature the below events and sites throughout the festival at Ontario Place.
Mystical Worlds and Characters
Mystical World and Characters will provide residents and tourists with stunningly decorated sights that are perfect for Instagram photo opportunities. Some of these sites will include themes related to the Arctic, Candy Cane Lanes, Luminous Gardens of mythical characters, Whimsical Forests and Snowflake Square. Within each of these sites, look out for characters in each of these sites, such as ice elves, yetis, and ice queens.
Tube Park
Aurora’s tube park will include a tubing facility as well as numerous other rides! These other rides will include a Ferris wheel, carousel, MusicFest, Sea Ray ride, Bumble Bee ride, Berry Ride and Umbrella Truck ride. These rides, especially the tube park aren’t just for children, and you too can enjoy these fun rides, surrounded by a unique winter atmosphere in the heart of downtown Toronto.
Frozen Pond

Aurora’s frozen pond will provide participants with a unique skating experience surrounded by decorative lights and Toronto’s downtown core. While you’re skating, you’ll get to jam along to holiday classics with your friends and family. Additionally, if you don’t have your own skates, you can rent your own for just $7 just beside the frozen pond.
The North Pole
Aurora’s North Pole area includes sites for craft-making, disco dances, meet and greets and storytime with Santa. These activities are great for all attendees – create fun holiday crafts, jam out to holiday favorites or take pictures with Santa surrounded by decorative lights!
Food & Market
This year, the Aurora festival grounds will play host to over 15 of Toronto’s favourite food trucks. Amongst these are Bacon Nation, Wanna Burger, Cheeseheadz and I Love Churros. Additionally, Aurora will be filled with a variety of market vendors for all your Christmas shopping needs. So, drop in and pick up some stocking stuffers!
