The Quebéc Winter Carnival is a widely known event filled with a wide range of fun holiday activities for all ages. The carnival originally came to life in France to relieve the harsh conditions of winter but now it has become a visitors’ favourite holiday annual festival of Québec. From the tasty maple drinks and food featured to the games, competitions and performances of all kinds, this is a must-visit carnival.

The Parade is back with more shows and events than ever! Enjoy a variety of artistic performances such as circus arts, media arts, a rock show, dances and much more we yet to know about! Visitors are awed by each year’s parade so be sure not to miss out on this parade.

Ice Sculpture Workshop (Feb 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th)

Well-known master sculptors such as Marc Lepire will be holding ice sculpture workshops for groups of 2 to 4 people. So grab yourself a bunch of friends or family members and take on the unique experience of carving your very own ice block. Just to top things off, there will be all-you-can-drink hot chocolate for the participants.

Canoe Race (Feb 9th)

The canoe race is one of the main infamous events of the Québec Winter Carnival. An incredibly fun event whether you want to be part of the race or just watch people compete. This year over 60 teams will be going head to head in one of four classes: Elite Men’s, Elite Women’s, Competitive and Sport. Additionally, there are also pre-race events, food, music and live entertainment to wow the visitors of all ages.

If you thought the carnival is limited to three events you are very wrong. Each year there are many side events, shows and games available in addition to the main three events above. For instance, did you know you can try dog sledding at this carnival? Moreover, you can explore an ice castle that features lots of rooms made entirely out of ice
