[Coquitlam College] Specialized Transfer Pathway Programs

There are diplomas, certificates and associates degrees available that can all include transfer courses to major universities in both the USA and Canada.

University Transfer Options

Coquitlam College is well-known for its numerous transfer pathways for international students hoping to study at larger Canadian universities. These universities are including the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. Many of Coquitlam College’s graduates go on to study at larger Canadian institutions, in diverse fields such as economics, math, computer science and business.

So, the college offers a number of different program length options, including diplomas, certificates and associate’s degrees. Each of these is transferable to universities both within Canada and the USA. The option you choose here will determine how many years you’ll spend at the school you’ll be transferring to.

The course content you’ll learn at Coquitlam College is well regulated ensuring a smooth transition into your future university. The course content and governing regulations are modelled on British Columbia’s research universities as defined by the British Columbia Council on Admissions and Transfer (BCCAT).

Spotlight: Associate of Arts Degree

The Associate of Arts Degree is a great idea for students looking to transfer to a larger university to complete their bachelor’s. It’s also great for students unsure of what they want to pursue within the arts. In this program, Coquitlam College students must complete  60 credits of University Transferable courses, including 6 credits of English, 9 credits of Science, and 36 credits in Arts with 18 credits from second-year courses.

There are numerous benefits to this particular degree program. First off, students in this program may receive priority admission from universities highly accepting of transfer students. Another great advantage to students considering immigration to Canada is that they are eligible to work 20 hours a week. Further, this means that after the degree, students can apply for a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). After completing the first year of full–time work, graduates are then eligible to apply for permanent residency.

There are multiple programs at Coquitlam College students can enrol in and complete, and then transfer to a top university after.
