University Canada West (UCW) entrance awards, scholarships and grants are available to new students applying to a UCW undergraduate or graduate program. Students can receive only ONE (1) award, scholarship or grant and one continuing student award if eligible. Students should be able to receive an award given the large number of awards UCW offers to its students.
Further, award, scholarship and grant recipients can act as ambassadors for UCW and participate in outreach and alumni engagement initiatives.
Available Scholarships and Funding for UCW Students
Entrance Scholarship for Academic Excellence
Students at the associate, bachelor’s and master’s level can apply for this scholarship program. The scholarship value received by the students depends on their admission cumulative grade point average (CGPA).
In order to receive continuing scholarship disbursements, the undergraduate scholarship recipients must maintain a CGPA of 2.67. On the other hand, the graduate scholarship recipients must maintain a CGPA of 3.0. This is including every term of enrolment, so be sure to keep that CGPA up as best as you can.
International Student Leader Award
This award is meant for those international students who want to contribute to the economic development of their home country.
To receive this award, students must submit a personal statement explaining how a degree from UCW will help them in achieving their personal, educational and career goals. Further, they also have to explain how they plan on assisting the overall economic development of their country, this includes potential obstacles they may face.
The value of the scholarship here is entirely dependent on the quality of the application, so of course, be sure to do your absolute best.
Live Our Vision of Education Undergraduate Scholarship
This is a scholarship for undergraduate students at UCW and is awarded based on the personal statement of the student at the time of admission.
The personal statement should include how acquiring a degree from UCW will help move along their personal and career goals.
This scholarship is distributed to the recipients as a tuition credit for the first two years of their degrees, not longer than this time frame.
Americas Tuition
With this award, tuition will be at the current UCW domestic rates for the Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce and MBA degrees offered at UCW, effective beginning Summer (July) 2019 term and exceeding this.
Here, no personal statement is required and this grant is open to international students from the Caribbean, North America & Central American, South American countries.
This grant will automatically be applied to new students starting at UCW from the countries listed above. America’s Tuition replaces the LATAM Grant; those students with the LATAM Grant will automatically be transferred to America’s Tuition.
Further, the continuance of the funding is conditional upon recipients remaining in good academic standing.
Scholarships for Academic Excellence
Academic excellence scholarships are available to both domestic and international students who talented academically. Further, these students must be in either the MBA, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, or Associate of Arts programs at UCW.
These scholarships are for international and domestic students with excellent academic grades, who wish to go on to excel in their chosen field of study and work.
To be considered for these scholarships, you must submit a Scholarship & Award Application at the time of applying for admission to UCW. ]
Further continuance is dependant on the >recipients of the undergraduate award; they must maintain a GPA of 2.67 to remain eligible for the second and subsequent award disbursements. >Scholarship recipients of the graduate award must maintain a GPA of 3.0 to remain eligible for the second and subsequent award disbursements.
MBA Foundation Study Grant
This particular grant is available to both international and domestic UCW students who are in the MBA program. Specifically, it’s for students of the program who demonstrate leadership and commitment to their chosen field of endeavour.
To get this grant, you must meet the following requirements:
- Submit a completed Scholarship & Award Application form when applying for admission to UCW;
- Submit a Personal Statement describing how undertaking the MBA and MBA Foundation programs will impact your career goals.
- Complete the MBA Foundation program and the MBA degree program within 36 months of starting your MBA Foundation courses.
European Grant
This is an entrance grant available to international students pursuing educational opportunities outside of Europe. The students must be from specific countries European countries, see the full list here under European Grant.
Further, it’s available to students in these UCW programs: MBA, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, and/or Associate of Arts.
Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Regional Grant
This particular entrance grant is available to select students from the Commonwealth Independent States (CIS). Specifically, students from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine are eligible for this particular grant. The last item of eligibility concerns programs. Students must be in either the MBA, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, or Associate of Arts program.
To receive this grant students must fill in the Scholarship & Award Application form when applying for admission to UCW. Further, students must start their studies at UCW before the end of the Fall (October) 2021 term.
Southeast Asia (SEA) Regional Grant
The Southeast Asia Regional Grant is available to a select number of students from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, or Vietnam. The grant is for students from South East Asia. Further, it is specifically for students in an MBA, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, or Associate of Arts.
To receive this grant students must fill in the Scholarship & Award Application form when applying for admission to UCW. Further, students must start their studies at UCW before the end of the Fall (October) 2021 term.
Middle East Regional Grant
The Middle East Regional Grant is for students from Iran wishing to study outside Iran at UCW and are also in either the MBA, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, or Associate of Arts program.
To receive this grant students must fill in the Scholarship & Award Application form when applying for admission to UCW. Further, students must start their studies at UCW before the end of the Fall (October) 2021 term.
Special Targeted Regional Award Program
Students in the MBA, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, or Associate of Arts programs may be eligible for the Special Targeted Regional Award. Also, those eligible will be from Mauritius, Morocco, MongoliaSouth KoreaTurkey.
To enter as an award competitor, students should submit a completed scholarship application form when applying for admission to UCW and start their studies at UCW before the end of the Fall (October) 2021 term.
UCW domestic and international students are able to receive quite a bit of money from UCW. That’s if they choose to apply for scholarships during their enrolment.
