Bachelor of Design in Graphic Design for Marketing (GDMA)

This programs puts emphasizes on design and critical thinking skills, fundamental knowledge in marketing, developing a solid understanding of business. Furthermore, you will gain a broad-based knowledge of the social, cultural, and environmental aspects of design. 

Skills You Develop

You will learn to work with industry-relevant tools, develop knowledge in Business and Marketing. The field of visual communications design is ever-evolving and fast-paced, broader based than ever before. This degree program prepares graduates for various kinds of entry-level graphic design positions.

The median wage for graphic designers is at $24.04 per hour according to the Job Bank of Canada.

Bachelor of Interior Design (IDSN)

The Bachelor of Interior Design program provides students wishing to pursue a professional career in interior design with a four-year intensive education focused on the built environment.

Skills You Develop

As part of the degree program students will practice both oral and written communication skills. You will also learn to research and analyze design theory and history gain and even become a member of The Interior Designers Institute of BC. Students will visit design firms, suppliers, museums and art galleries.


Since 2000, KPU’s Interior Design degree has been accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).

After Graduate Opportunities

Building construction increases in Canada, and this in turn results in jobs for interior designers. Graduates of the interior design program may work on retail design projects, exhibition, theatre or television sets, the design of corporate or residential projects.

Bachelor of Design, Product Design

This program provides an inter-disciplinary education that bridges innovation and creativity and transform ideas into marketable products. The program consists of hands-on education that combines a solid foundation in design principles, marketing and advanced manufacturing.

Skills You Develop

This program puts emphasis on the design and manufacturing products such as recreational gear, sportswear, safety and rescue equipment to name a few.

Credit for Previous Learning

If you have professional experience in the product design you may acquire credits through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).

After Graduate Opportunities

Upon graduation, you will have produced a portfolio of innovative work, including a major research and development project that combines all the skills you need for this field.
