OKANAGAN COLLEGE VERNON CAMPUS
Located minutes from downtown Vernon with stunning lake views, Okanagan College’s Vernon campus offers an abundance of programs, including the new offerings starting this September for Early Childhood Education Diploma and Computer Information System Diploma. The campus is home to nearly 1000 students, of which over 100 are international. Vernon, a city of over 50,000, is a vibrant community with an entrepreneurial attitude, good employment opportunities, offering a small-town community feel with big city conveniences and world-class recreation. Vernon was selected as one of the 11 communities in Canada for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program which gives international students an opportunity to become a permanent resident after graduation.
The campus offers Diploma programs in Business Administration, Post-Baccalaureate in Accounting, Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Environment Studies, Writing and Publishing, Communications, and Culture & Journalism Studies. In Fall 2021, we have special offerings in Early Childhood Education and Computer Information Systems Diploma.
Computer Information Systems (CIS) Diploma
The Computer Information Systems diploma is a two-year program which includes a broad selection of computing, mathematics, business, and communications courses. The program is available as a co-op program.
Learn technical aspects of computer information systems, including software development, database systems and systems analysis. Develop software for computers, websites and mobile applications. Collect and manage data to design models for technological solutions.
Graduates can function successfully in a variety of roles in a business organization, high-technology company, or government department.

CIS Specialists usually earn between $33.65 per hour and $69.23 per hour according to the Job Bank of Canada.
RURAL AND NORTHERN IMMIGRATION PILOT PROGRAM (RNIP)
Is a fast track to immigration for skilled foreigners who work or study in the area. This federal government program may benefit international students who study in Vernon to become a Permanent Resident granted that they meet all the requirements after graduation.
