Location

Located in Metro Vancouver, the area of Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District No. 42 consist of various of amazing activities such as hiking trails, ski areas, water-sports and other outdoor sports fields.  For the indoor enthusiasts, there are movie theaters and many other indoor activities available. There is plenty of things to do since you easy access to all areas of Metro Vancouver. The population is approximately 100.000 people.

Their graduates further their studies at prestigious post-secondary institutions such as University of Toronto, University of British Columbia and McGill University amongst others.

Academic Possibilities

The schools offer many programs such as Homestay Programs, International Baccalaureate, Independent Studies, Advanced Placement, Arts Sports and more.

International Student Support

All schools provide English Language Learners support, and Secondary Schools have an International Liaison teacher who oversees international students’ academic progress. Secondary students are even offered optional monthly activities that include hockey games, skiing and a Victoria trip.

Garibaldi Secondary School

The school focuses on applied skills in the areas of Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Metal, Culinary Art, Digital Video Animation, Automotive Technology and Carpentry. The school also offer languages courses in French or Japanese.

Maple Ridge Secondary School

The school focuses on applied skills in the areas of Metal Arts, Drafting, Professional Cooking, Textiles, Automotive Technology, Accounting, Business Administrative Assistant, Textiles, Economics, Tourism, Woodwork and Engineerings. The school also offer languages courses in French or Japanese. The school also offer language courses in French, Japanese, Spanish or German.

Pitt Meadows Secondary School

The school focuses on applied skills in the areas of Automotive Technology, Carpentry, Metal Work, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Cook Training, Power Mechanics or Sewing. The school also offer languages courses in French or Japanese. The school also offer language courses in French or Spanish.

Samuel Robertson Secondary School

The school focuses on applied skills in the areas of Carpentry, Drafting & Engineering, Metal Work, Culinary Arts, Cafeteria Training, Marketing, Digital Media or Woodwork. The school also offer language courses in French or Spanish.

Thomas Haney Secondary School

The school focuses on applied skills in the areas of 3D Modelling, Video Game Design, Metal Work, Professional Cooking, Textiles, Automotive Technology, Industrial Design, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Management Innovation, Robotics, Woodwork, Photography or Art Metal. The school also offer language courses in French, Japanese or Spanish.

Westview Secondary School

The school focuses on applied skills in the areas Accounting, Marketing, Textiles, Family Studies, Art, Metal & Jewellery Design, Industrial Design, Robotics & Industrial Design, Creative Wood Design, Power Mechanics & Technology, Carpentry & Joinery, Automotive Technology, Fashion Design & Merchandising, Film Editing & Special Effects or Video Game Design.


School District Homestay

Want to experience living with a Canadian family while learning English and experience Canadian culture? The school district manages their Homestay Program carefully with solid checks to each host family to ensure the safety and high standards of the home. Their Homestay Coordinators carefully review international student applications when determining homestay placements. Homestay coordinators also regularly check in with International Students at school to ensure they are adapting to life in Canada. Their host families are all residents of Canada, come from many different cultural backgrounds and reflect the diversity of Canadian culture.  Their Homestay Program provides continuous training and support to host families to ensure they are providing quality care to international students.
