Returning to Post-Secondary Institutions in Fall 2021: Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT)

As the pandemic continuous to evolve, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continue to make revisions to their policies. SAIT aims to keep information as updated as possible. Prepare your return in Fall 2021 at SAIT

Travel to Canada and Admission to SAIT

If you need to travel to Canada and be admitted at SAIT. Please collect the PDF files of the following documents BEFORE you start filling pre-travel form. Please prepare the below points.

  • Study permit, final study permit approval letter or letter of introduction.
  • Most recent flight ticket, revised date flight ticket as per the travel duration.
  • Completely fill out and sign the SAIT Quarantine Plan.
  • The receipt of SAIT Residence Quarantine (The receipt will be emailed to you in 3-5 business days).

Once the above documents are prepared, fill in the pre-travel form AT LEAST 2 weeks before your departure date.

* Book your quarantine at SAIT here, create a new account, select “short term stay”, and follow the payment method.

Once SAIT receive your submission, you will receive an acknowledgement email in 3-5 business days with further instructions. Some emails may go to your SPAM folder, please ensure to check it in case you do not receive the email in your inbox in 5 business days.

Is your flight rescheduled or interrupted by the travel ban?

If you previously filled the pre-travel form but could not fly because of the travel ban. You need fill the form again with a new date of travel.

Below are the following steps to take when your flight is rescheduled.

STEP 1: INFORM OF ANY THE DISRUPTIONS

Please let SAIT know of any travel interruptions and provide the below information to [email protected]

  • Full name
  • SAIT ID
  • Program
  • Start Semester (Spring / Fall)
  • Program delivery (Blended / Online)

STEP 2: FLIGHTS + HOTEL

Please ensure contact your port of entry hotel, travel agent or airline directly to book or coordinate new dates for travel.

STEP 3: INFORM SAIT RESIDENCE QUARANTINE

SAIT residence will fully cooperate with international students to postpone any dates of stay and even adjust payments to the postponed dates. Email [email protected] to let them know your status of your original date of travel.

STEP 4: CHECK YOUR EMAILS FOR ANY UPDATES ABOUT YOUR PROGRAM

SAIT is working with schools, departments and any other stakeholders to get you updated information on your start of the program with any delayed arrival.

Please ensure to check your inbox and spam regularly for any updates!

STEP 5: MONITOR ANNOUCEMENTS

Continue to monitor the Government of Canada announcements about any travels, and rebook the trip as per the Government of Canada new updates and protocols.
