University of Fraser Valley Overview

The University of Fraser Valley (UFV), located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, is a public university in Canada, providing an excellent academic environment to students from all over the world. Every year more than 2,000 overseas students enroll in various Programs at UFV. The school takes pride in providing quality education by its dynamic faculty to the students through its high-quality teaching so that students are ready to enter the job world upon graduation.

UFV has five campuses in total, one of which is in India. There are four campuses in the beautiful Fraser Valley of BC located in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, and Hope. The fifth campus is in Chandigarh, India.

Students can choose from more than 70 programs and earn the following credentials:

Flexible options for the students

The students have the flexibility to:

  • Take classes online or offline

Study Graphic and Digital Design Diploma at UFV

Every industry and business needs a creative team or a strategist to stand out and make its content more visually appealing. This course helps students to be highly skilled graphic designers. Apart from gaining a solid foundation in graphic design, the students also learn:

  • Communication design
  • Motion graphics and animation
  • Brand identity 
  • Dynamic media
  • Image creation and interactive design
  • Adobe Software
  • Typography
  • Photography
  • Content Creation

The Program teaches the students how to turn ideas into graphics or animation and conceptualize and utilize critical thinking skills for powerful visual communication. Photography and typography lessons are provided. Emphasis is laid on creative applications like Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

A MacBook Pro laptop configured per the course specifications is recommended for this course but is considered optional.

Credential Awarded: Diploma

Duration of the Program: 2 Years

Students are taught to make new strategies and apply them to digital communication to have the maximum impact. The knowledge imparted is project-based so that the students can get hands-on learning. Upon completion, there is an option to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts Graphic and Digital Design Major.

This is a full-time 60-credit cohort program offered at the Abbotsford and Mission campuses. 

How can one become a visual influencer by learning graphic design?

The course work emphasizes real-world projects so students can make a portfolio and show them to future employers. The studio and labs have all the necessary equipment like scanners, printers, etc. The students can take up to 5 courses each semester.

The College also arranges special events, guest lectures, field trips, academic tours, design conferences, workshops, and mentorship opportunities to understand the subject better. 

While studying, students can also choose to work on or off campus, volunteer, or participate in various activities and clubs for overall academic enrichment.

Tuition costs, materials fees, and student/activity fees:

For domestic students, fees range from $3000CAD TO $4000 CAD per semester.

The book supplies may cost an additional $500CAD.

For international students, the fees range from $9000CAD TO $10,000 CAD per semester.

Upon successful completion of the two-year Graphic and Digital Design program, you will be able to:
