Christmas is around the corner and is considered the perfect time to view the most magical lights and beautiful decorations in and around the city. Here is a list of a few places in the lower mainland where you can witness the most dazzling and sparkling Christmas lights with your friends and family and enjoy a perfect holiday stroll!
Granville Island Festive Lights
You will be mesmerized to view one of the most elegant holiday light displays at Granville Island. Walk at the well-lit and beautifully decorated Granville Island and enjoy your evening among the twinkling lights with your loved ones. You can find a lot of restaurants and enjoy some of the delicious foods offered in various food joints. The entrance fee is free, along with complimentary parking, which will surely attract many tourists this season!

Heritage Christmas
It is the perfect season to experience Heritage Christmas presented at Burnaby Village Museum, where you can enjoy the festive lights and the traditional Christmas & new year decorations. The museum’s venue is spread over 10 acres and packed with seasonal entertainment and activities. Entry for this event is free.

Then this place is perfect for you as you will be able to see the Suspension bridge transformed into an illusion or a magical world where one can immerse themselves. The moment you lay your eyes on the beautiful view here, you won’t want to come out. Cross the bridge with end-to-end colour-changing lights with a view of the beautiful & calm illuminated Capilano river. Overall, logging into Instagram is a must to capture the beautiful scenery from this event!
Ticket Price: CAD 62.95 for adults.
Students above the age of 18 must show their Student ID to be eligible for a discounted ticket of $49.95 + tax CAD.

VanDusen Festival of Lights
Enjoy the magical moments this holiday season at VanDusen Botanical Garden, which is converted into a winter wonderland with more than one million dazzling and twinkling lights. Take your friends and family and stroll along the lakeside, making it perfect for the holiday mood. Take beautiful pictures at this winter garden which includes themed areas, tasty treats, unique light features, holiday music and much more!
Ticket Price: CAD 21 + tax for adults.

Surrey Tree Lighting Festival
Watch Surrey’s 60 ft Christmas tree light up the sky. Enjoy the Christmas festivities suitable for all age groups at the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival, along with food joints, food trucks, live performances, rides, choirs, DJs, dance, holiday season decorations and much more! Entry is free!

Experience a family-friendly outdoor Christmas festival in these beautiful well-lit gardens and landscapes, all under the roof of a million lights in the Christmas Glow Langley festival.
