About Coquitlam
Situated in the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia, Coquitlam is one of the many attractive urban communities in Metro Vancouver. As the sixth-largest city in the province, the vibrant city boasts plenty of beautiful parks, local festivals and events, and endless shopping, dining and entertainment options. It also sits next to nature – walk a few kilometres in any direction and you’re bound to hit a hiking or biking trail.
Today, Coquitlam is considered to be one of the fastest-growing cities in the province. With a population of approximately 140,000, Coquitlam is the largest city that sits alongside the Scenic 7 Highway and the largest of the Tri-Cities, which includes Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. Its community consists of diverse cultural heritage backgrounds, with notably large Chinese, South Korean, Franco-European and Persian populations.
Coquitlam is easily accessible by car and by public transportation. For those taking the Skytrain, Coquitlam Central Station is perhaps the most popular stop. The station is served by the Millenium Line and the West Coast Express, functioning as a key bus exchange for the Tri-Cities. From the station, you’ll also have easy access to shopping, restaurants, parks, festivals, outdoor recreation and other activities.
