English and Summer Culture Program
Coquitlam School District has developed Summer Programs designed to educate and entertain the students so they can have a blissful and memorable summer ahead.
Program commencement date: July 3, 2023
Highlights of the Program
This program would help students learn English in a fun manner, participating in outdoor summer activities such as visiting popular attractions in and around Vancouver.
ESL or English as a Second Language classes
English classes will be conducted by BC government-certified teachers and focus on improving Language Skills such as speaking, listening, reading vocabulary, or writing. The classes will be during the first half of the day. The classes will be started and concluded by writing an ESL Assessment Test.
Outdoor activities during the afternoon
The afternoon will be an extension of the morning ESL classes. In the latter half of the day, the students will be able to experience Canadian culture and use newly learned English skills and vocabulary by participating in group activities and by exploring the beautiful outdoors of the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia. Students can also enjoy activities, such as hiking, golfing, bowling, First Nations arts and crafts, and bus trips to popular sightseeing areas.
They will also get a chance to visit some popular attractions of Vancouver, such as Gastown, Stanley Park, the Vancouver Aquarium, Capilano Suspension Bridge, the University of British Columbia, Metrotown, Museum of Anthropology, and the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre.
Recognition & Achievement
To admire the hard work put in by the students at the Summer Program, the students will receive a formal report card and a certificate of completion.

Summer High School Credit Course Program (6 weeks)
There are also academic courses for high school where students can register for one or two courses. Approval must be received from the school currently attending by a school counsellor or ESL teacher to take any summer school course.
