About the Electronics Repair Technology program

The Electronics Repair Technology program at VCC is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of electronic systems and the practical skills required to diagnose, repair, service, and maintain the latest computers, televisions, and mobile devices. The curriculum is carefully crafted to meet industry standards and ensure graduates are job-ready as technicians upon completion.

Students enrolled in the program will gain hands-on experience with various electronic components and systems, including circuit boards, power supplies, audio and video equipment, and computer systems. They will also learn to analyze and troubleshoot complex electronic problems, employing theoretical knowledge and practical skills to find effective solutions. Classroom activities include lectures, demonstrations, audio-visual presentations, and exercises in groups that will help students work effectively as team members.

Admission Requirements

PROGRAM-SPECIFIC

English 11 with a C- or equivalent

  • OR Academic IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5)
  • OR TOEFL 70
  • OR English Language Proficiency at the Grade 11 level

AND

Apprentice and Workplace Math 10 with a C- or equivalent

OR 

Departmental approval based on relevant experience will be considered
