Many, if not all, students encounter moments when they need assistance in navigating their academic journey or managing the challenges of student life. But where do they turn to seek the support they need? That’s where Coquitlam College’s Student Services steps in!
About Student Services
At Coquitlam College, Student Services offers a wide range of resources, services and support to students throughout their academic journey. These services have been designed with students in mind, and have been structured to help students succeed academically, personally, and socially.
The Advising Centre, which is a part of Student Services, assists students in selecting the right courses, majors, and academic paths based on their interests and goals. Academic advisors are available daily, and can help students with course registration, academic and career planning, addressing any academic challenges and even confidential matters.
International students who wish to obtain more information about study permits, permit renewals and/or extension, Post-Graduate Work Permit Program (PGWP) eligibility, and other IRCC-related subjects can speak to a Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor.
The Writing & Learning Centre
The Writing Centre at Coquitlam College offers support to students who are looking to improve their writing skills, regardless of their proficiency level or academic discipline. Whether it’s to revise citations, check grammar on a final essay, or create a resume from scratch, the Writing Centre’s tutors can provide personalized assistance and feedback to students at various stages of the writing process—from brainstorming and drafting to revising and editing.
Tutors will also provide constructive feedback on students’ drafts, highlighting areas for improvement in grammar, style, organization, and clarity. This feedback helps students revise and refine their work, ultimately leading to stronger, more polished writing.
For Fall 2023, Writing Centre’s in-person meetings schedule is as follows:
- Days: Monday to Friday (Bird Hall)
