How Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadow School District’s Summer Camps Can Ignite a Passion for Learning

If you want to be productive while having fun, then the Maple Ridge—Pitt Meadows International Program’s Summer Cultural Experience is for you!

About the Summer Cultural Experience program

Go on adventures and take local trips that serve as both cultural excursions and English language experiences. With the Summer Cultural Experience program, students will have the opportunity to explore nearby attractions, parks, and public sites, providing a real-world context for language application. These local trips are carefully curated to expose students to different linguistic scenarios in Canada, enabling them to practice English in various situations.

Program information

  • Program starts on July 7th, 2024 and ends on July 27th, 2024 (3 weeks)
  • Program fee: $3950 CAD*
  • Students aged 14-18 are eligible to apply
  • Activities for both full and half-days

*Program fee covers pick-up and drop-off from the airport, homestay, medical insurance, class sessions and activity fees.  More information on dates and times can be requested from the International Education office.

How to apply

To apply for the Summer Cultural Experience program, you must: 

  1. Complete the Cultural application in the Online Application portal
  2. Choose your desired start date. 
  3. Upload a copy of the first page of the participant’s passport. 

Note that the application and payment must be received at least 12 weeks prior to your selected start date. 

About the Pre-Academic Summer Program

The Maple Ridge—Pitt Meadows International Program also offers a Pre-Academic Summer Program, which gears towards helping international students prepare for their extended studies in Canada while ensuring that they enjoy every experience. Similar to the district’s other summer program offerings, students will:

  • Learn about Canadian history, culture and their local community
  • Develop English language skills, vocabulary, critical thinking skills, public speaking skills, etc.
  • Participate in events and activities centered around Canadian culture and experiences
  • Live with a Canadian host family

Program information

  • Program starts on August 10th, 2024 and ends on August 31st, 2024 (3 weeks)
  • Program fee: $3850 CAD*
  • Students must be at least 13 years of age to be eligible to apply

*Program fee covers pick-up and drop-off from the airport, homestay, medical insurance, class sessions and activity fees. More information on dates and times can be requested from the International Education office.

How to apply

To apply for the Pre-Academic Summer Program, you must submit your application through the Online Application portal. Be sure to apply early as availability of space is limited. 

Note that the application and payment must be received at least 6 weeks prior to the start date of the program.

*If you are joining the Pre-Academic Summer Program prior to your Academic studies starting in September 2024, please indicate YES to the following question in the Academic application:
