Blanche Macdonald Centre Graduate’s Success Story – Professional Hairstyling Program

Embarking on a Journey of Creativity

Indonesia’s Melfinna Tjugito showcases a remarkable journey in the beauty industry. Unlike many peers, she possesses innate talent and an unyielding thirst for learning. With prior industry experience in Indonesia and a lifelong passion for makeup, Melfinna pursued further education at Blanche Macdonald to refine her skills. Her work has graced the pages of British Vogue and Vogue Italia, and she’s contributed to productions on Netflix and Hulu. Now, after four years of success as a Global Makeup graduate, she returns to Blanche Macdonald to master the art of hair in the Pro Hair Co-Op Program.

Venturing Beyond Borders

Leaving behind a promising career start in Indonesia, Melfinna sought new horizons. The connections she forged back home bolstered her confidence to explore opportunities abroad, recognizing that if she could succeed there, she could thrive in Vancouver too.

Finding Support and Inspiration

As an international student navigating Canada alone, Blanche Macdonald became her anchor. The institution’s esteemed reputation facilitated networking opportunities, while its expert instructors guided her toward unlocking her full potential. Melfinna considers choosing Blanche Macdonald one of her best decisions, citing the supportive community she found within the Blanche Family.

A Day in the Life of Melfinna Tjugito

Balancing her roles as a student and a busy artist, Melfinna’s days are dynamic and unpredictable. From refining hair techniques with instructor Sherry Paley to collaborating on editorial shoots and crafting Special FX for TV and film sets, her schedule is packed with creativity. She’s had the honour of working alongside celebrities like Janelle Parrish from “Pretty Little Liars,” Nova Stevens, Miss Universe Canada, and Meganne Young from “The Kissing Booth.”
