About VFS’s Game Design program

Vancouver Film School & Notable Alumni

The entertainment and media industries will be worth more than US$300 billion by 2025, and Vancouver Film School (VFS) is preparing its students to take part in that growing economy. VFS students have gone on to participate in the designing and creation of some of the world’s best-known films and games, including:

  • Game of Thrones (105 alumni)
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home (16 alumni)
  • Halo Infinite (17 alumni)
  • Sonic the Hedgehog (27 alumni)
  • No Time to Die (11 alumni)

Other notable mentions include:

  • Elden Ring
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
  • FIFA 23
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • God of War Ragnarök
  • …and the list goes on!

It’s also worth mentioning that VFS was, again, named the #1 Game Design school in Canada in 2023 by The Princeton Review. That’s no surprise though, considering the program’s intensive training and strong alumni network. Pretty cool, right? VFS Game Design has also won the Unity Student Game of the Year award four times!

About the program

As a VFS Game Design student, you’ll obtain, build and receive the following during the 12-month long program:

  4. Term 4 is dedicated to designing and planning a major team-based final project.
