Learn How to Become an Expert in Cybersecurity at Vancouver Community College With Their New  Tech-Centric GRC Cybersecurity Program

Are you attracted to artificial intelligence (AI) and the advancement of the tech industry? What about ensuring that your personal/company data is protected on the internet?

What is Cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity professionals play a major role in protecting individuals, organizations, and even countries from cyber threats. By securing digital data and assets, they contribute to a safer online environment for everyone. A job in cybersecurity involves identifying vulnerabilities and finding solutions to mitigate risks. Workers in this field will develop strong problem-solving skills that are valuable in various industries. Pursuing a degree in cybersecurity challenges individuals to think critically, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively. These skills contribute to personal and professional growth, enhancing one’s overall career prospects.

With the increasing digitization of businesses and the rise in cyber threats, there’s a high demand for cybersecurity professionals. London Drugs was recently implicated in a cyber attack, forcing all western Canadian store locations to shut down while they hired a cybersecurity team to bring their systems back online. The company urged businesses to begin investing into this tech-based industry as cyber attacks are only getting stronger, and customers’ data must remain protected.

A degree in cybersecurity can open up a wide range of high-paying career opportunities. The major increase in demand for cybersecurity jobs, and the fact that cyber threats continue to evolve means that a career in this field provides job security.
