Program Description

The Faculty of Business and Professional Studies at Capilano University is looking for students to apply to the North American Business Management Applied Post-Baccalaureate Diploma (NABU Applied)! 

This two-year full-time program (sixteen month duration) will allow students to enhance their knowledge on North American business, and learn how to conduct it themselves. 

The benefits of this applied program are that it currently offers a practicum during the last semester. This practicum allows students to receive support from the CapU School of Business while they are in a full-time work position with a local business. It also assists them in finding a full-time job after program completion. Students who complete this program are eligible for a 3-year post graduate work permit. Who is This Program For?

The program is targeted towards international students who have completed an undergraduate degree (outside of Canada), and who are looking for practical North American work experience, and business credentials. The program is offered in a full-time accelerated format, including an employment practicum. Currently Canadian residents cannot enroll in the NABU program. 

Students Can Select Specific Concentrations! 

Students in this program are able to choose their business concentrations in marketing, human resources, international strategy & information management, and finance & investment. 

Program Information

The program is offered two times a year, Fall, and Spring. Both intakes will be in person at Capilano University Campus in North Vancouver. The next intakes are Spring 2025, and Fall 2025.

Admission Requirements 

The programs admission requirements are as follows: 

1) English Language Competence

If English is not the applicants first language they must submit proof of English Language Proficiency through one of the following: 

• TOEFL: paper = 560, internet = 83, or 
• English Language Assessment (ELA) = 145, or 
• IELTS Academic = 6.5 overall, and no less than 6.0 anywhere, or 
• PTE Academic = 56, or 
• CapU EAP 100 and 101 with a minimum B+ in each course, or 
• Articulated level completion from approved Pathway Partner 

2) Undergraduate Degree Completion

Students must complete an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution with a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.5 or higher 

3) Resume 

Students must submit a copy of their resume or a relevant experience summary. 

4) Business Degree or Equivalent 

If students have not completed a business degree, economics degree, or equivalent, they will need to complete a Business Essentials course.
