Starting September 1st, Columbia College has partnered with GEC Living to provide housing to their students in East Vancouver, about a 25-minute bus ride from campus.
Students can move in on September 1st, and can apply if they are a new or current student.
Student housing is urgently needed across Vancouver, BC, to address the growing demand driven by a significant increase in student enrollment and a competitive rental market. With the city’s housing affordability crisis, many students struggle to find affordable and suitable accommodation, which can negatively impact their academic performance and overall well-being.
By expanding the student housing options, Columbia College aims to ease the financial burden on students while also helping to alleviate the pressure on the broader rental market.
