The International Entrance & Performance Award (IEPA) provides eligible new international students with a tuition reduction of CAD $150 per credit when they are enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, which is typically equivalent to four courses.
For students taking 12 credits, the award value is approximately CAD $1,800 per semester. Students may also receive CAD $150 per credit for any additional registered credits. Over the course of a four-year degree program, eligible students may receive up to CAD $18,000 in total tuition support.

🎓 Eligible Programs
The IEPA applies to select programs at Capilano University, including eligible diplomas, associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and post-baccalaureate diplomas. These programs may include areas such as Business, Arts & Sciences, Interdisciplinary Studies, Communications, and Tourism.
📚 Initial Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the award, students must meet the initial eligibility requirements set by Capilano University. Students must be admitted for the Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 term, pay international student tuition fees, and be enrolled as a CapU credential-seeking student. Short-term visiting students are not eligible.
Students must also have an admissions GPA of 2.50 or higher in the required courses, as determined by CapU’s admission assessment, and must register in 12.00 or more credits.
📈Continuing Eligibility
To continue receiving the award in future terms, students must maintain a 3.50 term GPA and remain enrolled in 12.00 or more credits per term. Exceptions may apply for cohort-based post-baccalaureate diploma programs.
Students who lose eligibility may be able to re-qualify by earning a 3.50 GPA in a future semester.
📅Important Deadlines
For the Fall 2026 term, students must complete their application to CapU by June 12, 2026, pay the tuition deposit by June 26, 2026, and register by July 30, 2026.
For the Spring 2027 term, students must complete their application by September 30, 2026, pay the tuition deposit by October 15, 2026, and register by November 30, 2026.
📝 Additional Notes
Eligible students will receive award details in their offer letter. Once course registration is confirmed, eligible students will automatically receive the award, and tuition fees will be adjusted before payment deadlines.
Students may still qualify with fewer than 12.00 credits in a term if this is required by their cohort-based post-baccalaureate diploma program or if they are in their final term before graduation.
Award eligibility ends if the student is not registered for two consecutive semesters, changes programs, or completes the program.
For international students planning to study at Capilano University, the IEPA can be a valuable opportunity to reduce tuition costs while working toward their academic goals in Canada.
